Which Places in Shibuya are the Best to Stay in?
The Shibuya Tokyo area is one of the best in this large metropolis. My girlfriend and I have spent plenty of time exploring this region of the city, finding excellent accommodation at the many hotels that this area offers. It is our opinion based on our stays in the many different hotels that the following list offers the best Shibuya Tokyo hotels based on the amenities, location, accommodations, and price.
Shibuya Tokyo Accommodation
Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel
It’s just five minutes distance from the Shibuya station which means visiting many attractions along the way, this hotel offers an incredible view of the city and modern conveniences. The room service is 24/7 and my girlfriend has taken advantage of the famed beauty salon and hot tub. It helps that there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya Jingumae
Near Omotesando Hills, the location of this three-star hotel is perfect for anyone wanting to visit the Ota Memorial Museum of Art, the National Children’s Castle, and the many attractions in the area. I managed to get in some tennis at their tennis courts while my girlfriend took advantage of the spa and wellness facilities. The complimentary breakfast is a great way to start the day.
Tokyu Stay Shibuya
This hotel is in the vicinity of shopping, nightlife, and restaurants in Tokyo. We loved how spacious the rooms were at Tokyu Stay and that it was only a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Rooms here are practically furnished with a washer/dryer, microwave, kitchen and a humidifier. Dry cleaning, free luggage storage, 24-hour front desk, photocopying and courier services are also available. Many tourists and business travelers stay here for the convenience.
We found this one while travelling to Shibuya on a budget. You can stay for just a few hours to rest and recuperate if you desire, but even the single rooms have their own en-suite bathrooms. The hotel offers quite a few amenities as my girlfriend noted with the toothbrushes, hair dryers, and shavers. It’s a great place for a day trip when you just need a few hours to rest before exploring the rest of the city.
Only a two-star hotel, but its ryokan-style and perfect for business travelers. What my girlfriend likes about it is the location which is next to the Togo Shrine, Yoyogi Park, and Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine. I like the prices and the Japanese-style double rooms.
SHIBUYA HOTEL EN
This hotel accommodation is right in the heart of the shopping, nightlife and restaurant district. What’s unique about this place is that all the rooms have a different theme and are very modern due to the recent renovations in early 2016. Our room had a lot of character with the exposed brick walls, Japanese culture and western functionality added to the space. For dinner do not miss the chance to try the juicy tenderized Japanese Black Wagyu beef at their own Bistro Moderna.
Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu
Perfect location within a 3-minute walk from Shibuya train station. This is arguably one of our favourite hotels when travelling to Tokyo as we tend to stay in the higher rooms with greater views. Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu is right in the heart of Shibuya and hovers right over the famous intersection. We had a breakfast plan with our room and enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast, which included fish, rice and dumpling. As stated, the rooms and restaurant offer splendid views of the vibrant city of Shibuya.
Sakura Fleur Aoyama
Considering the low price, it’s astonishing just what this hotel has to offer. From free Wi-Fi to flat screen TVs complete with satellite channels, working desk, and fridge, this is the budget vacationers’ dream hotel. We even received a complimentary bottle of water and a few tasty meals during our stay.
Shibuya City Hotel
It’s not just the incredible view and location that make this one of the best Shibuya Tokyo hotels, the accommodation is second-to-none thanks to the many different amenities. In fact, my girlfriend’s favorite place to eat in this part of the city, the Bistro Sanjugodanya, is in the hotel itself.
Shibuya Creston Hotel
In the middle of Tokyo and filled with amenities, I loved the authentic Japanese breakfast dishes while my girlfriend enjoyed the bicycle tours to the shopping centers.
