Places to Get the Best Brunch in Tokyo

Don’t Know if You Want Breakfast or Lunch? Then we Recommend Having Brunch in Tokyo

The city of Tokyo is full of restaurants which offer brunch in their own way. If brunch is your favourite meal of the day then there are many spots in Tokyo where you can eat. The good food and the hospitality of the staff of these restaurants are the major attraction which drew me towards them.

Where to Find the Top Brunch Places?

Here I will discuss about the popular restaurants where my girlfriend and I went to get the best brunch in Tokyo.

Soul Food House

This restaurant opens only for brunch on Sundays from 11am to 3pm and we arrived late around 2 pm. For lunch and dinner this restaurant opens from Wednesday to Saturday. The food served in this restaurant is the creation of owners and cooks La Tonya and David Whitaker from Mississippi and Georgia respectively.

For brunch I ordered the Ultimate Chicken & Waffles with a side of biscuits & gravy. The waffles prepared in this restaurant were light and perfectly complimented the fried chicken.

The Soul Food House is at a distance of about one kilometer from the popular Azabu Juban station which I visit on a regular basis. They’re proud to provide you with the most authentic Southern Soul Food in Tokyo.

Eggcellent (Roppongi)

Bubby’s (Roppongi/Akasaka

If you like eggs then your search ends here as Eggcellent is the ideal restaurant for you. The speciality of this dish is Eggs Benedict and if you are looking to have double Eggs Benedict you are required to shell out 1400 yen. We also ordered the Half & Half Benedict w/Avocado Quinoa to share for about 1700 yen. They used they’re special miso sauce which was delicious!

The best feature of this restaurant is that there is ample space with electrical sockets and I could charge my mobile while eating. The outside sitting area is very impressive and protects you from the elements while waiting because if you arrive late, a lineup will surely be forming. The other good thing about this place which I found is that it opens very early 7:00am on weekdays while it opens at 8:00am on weekends. The service of this restaurant is very good and for a couple, we paid approx 4000 yen.

What impressed my girlfriend the most about this place was the entrance has been carved like an egg shell and the tiles of the floor look like the yellow yolk. The interior is also cool and eggs are incorporated into the furniture display.

Sawamura (Hiroo)

Sawamura is an excellent restaurant which offers a very delicious breakfast till 10:00am. Since it opens early it is the favorite spot of early risers like me. They use various kinds of organic ingredients and the coffee latte served in this restaurant is awesome which was relished by my girlfriend.

The price for French toast/omelette ranges between 1200 and 1500 yen and the delicious lineup of breads are to die for. If you happen to come a little later during the weekends for brunch, you will have to wait for your turn, so be an early bird and avoid the line.

This restaurant has limited seating capacity on the 1st floor but there is ample space on the 2nd. Access is super convenient as it is 5 minutes on foot from the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, Hiroo Station-Exit 3

Lauderdale (Roppongi)

Lauderdale restaurant offers a very casual atmosphere which makes it the perfect spot for couples and family brunch. The good thing is that you do not have to wait on weekdays and on weekends you have to wait for very less time.

I found the menu of this restaurant full of variety which includes omelettes, breads, pancakes and fruit. The omelette served in this restaurant is light green in color due to the addition of vegetables with an ample amount of cheese. The bacon served is also very crispy.

Lauderdale is regarded as one of the most reasonable and comfortable brunch locales in Tokyo. The dishes served in this restaurant have a mix and match of Western and Japanese taste which are my favorites. We had the buttermilk pancakes and scrumptious souffle. The price of brunch for one person is between 1400 – 2000 yen and this restaurant has the capacity to seat 20 people.

Bubby’s (Roppongi/Akasaka)

Bubby’s is located in Akasaka is a fantastic spot to have brunch. Apart from Akasaka Bubby’s is located in three other places. This restaurant is situated in the 2nd floor of the Ark Hill complex and has an impressive courtyard. If you bring kids with you, they can have a good time in the courtyard while you enjoy your favorite coffee.

The grilled plate brunch is a specialty of this restaurant which comes at a price of 1400 yen. It includes scrambled eggs, hash browns a large slice of bacon along with some grapefruit and pineapple. My girlfriend ordered the sour cream pancakes with strawberry and banana. She said it was delicious and would order this again in a heartbeat.

The price of dish for one person is between 1400 yen and 2500 yen. This restaurant has a lot of seating area and you can sit inside or outside on the terrace.

Jade5 (Hiroo)

Jade is another fantastic restaurant to get tasty brunch in Tokyo. This restaurant is very small and affordable, however the good thing is that there is a park right in front where you can relax and wait.

Jade offers a wide menu which ranges from eggs Benedict to pancakes and French toast. The couple in front of us ordered Eggs Florentine and it looked delicious. For a single person you have to pay between 1200 yen and 1500 yen. This includes the 200 yen coffee special offered before 11am.

This restaurant is very small and can only accommodate about 10 people. The restaurant is family friendly, has baby seats and the unique part is that you can come with your dog. If you’re looking for Classic American-style breakfasts in a relaxed atmosphere that play country music, this is your place!

The customers are willing to spend extra amount of money as the services offered and the ambience of these places are fabulous. The good thing which I liked about the food served in these restaurants is that it is hygienic, healthy and above all easy to digest.

These restaurants have impressive entry, patio area and courtyards. All the above restaurants are simply great and like me you should try to visit them.
