Roppongi city in Tokyo is full of fun and enjoyment. This happening city is the ideal destination for people who love dancing at clubs or who want to drink alcohol in bars. For travelers, eating before or after a night out is definitely ranked at the top of the agenda. The night life offered by Roppongi is simply awesome where people throng in large numbers and I was lucky enough to be one of them.

The best thing about this city is that apart from nightlife it also has places where my girlfriend and I can go in the daytime like shopping, movies and cafes. And most importantly, we have to eat so here’s my list of the best restaurants in Roppongi.

Sukiyabashi Jiro

best,restaurants,roppongiSukiyabashi Jiro is another famous restaurant in Roppongi and provides Sushi in its own way. The restaurant only has 10 counter seats and fresh seafood is bought daily from Tsukiji fish market. The second branch of this famous restaurant has opened by the renowned Sushi Chef Jiro who is known to prepare very delicious Sushi dishes.

This restaurant has been awarded the Michelin Star which simply adds more grace and shine to its popularity which I found very appealing. The Omakase tasting menu is a must try and is determined every morning. Bring your date here and enjoy the ambiance and relaxed atmosphere provided. The whole meal consists of 20 sushi pieces which was perfect to satisfy our stomachs.

This restaurant is just at a distance of one kilometer from Roppongi Sta. It opens in two shifts between 11:30am and 2:00pm and between 5:30pm and 9:00pm. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time if possible.

Tofuya Ukai

best,restaurants,roppongiTofuya Ukai serves kaiseki courses and offers a private-room dining experience where reservations are recommended. The Japanese Koi pond and private garden provided a romantic setting while we savored our food.

Their homemade tofu is made with soybeans and spring water and has a sweet distinctive taste. You can also enjoy their different seasonal seafood and vegetables year round. We took our time and spent about 2 hrs here.

The surroundings are truly lovely, the service was superb and the food presentation was impeccable. My girlfriend kept raving about the Kobe beef and tofu which I found to be exquisite. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 10pm and closed on Mondays.

It is not only due to the popularity of the movie that people visit this restaurant but people come here to eat as well. President George W. Bush also frequented this place while visiting Japan in 2002.

The Japanese based Izakaya drinks and food are the specialty of this fantastic restaurant. We had the soba noodles and amazing oyster wrapped Nori seaweed.

This beautiful restaurant is just 10 min from Nogizaka and Omotesando where I was staying. On the weekdays this restaurant opens between 11:00am and 3:00pm and you can enjoy drinks with food.

Havana Cafe

It is a Latin American bar which has a great rush of foreigners due to the atmosphere and a 2 hrs all-you-can-drink bar. The B1 floor of this restaurant contains many sofas to chill and relax.

The foods served in this restaurant are Mexican, Californian and Caribbean style which I found very tempting. The best thing about this restaurant is its happy hour menu between 5pm and 7pm where we had alcohol at a reasonable price.

This restaurant is just a one minute walk from the exit of Roppongi No.7 and opens from Monday till Saturday between 11:30am and 5:00am and on Sundays it opens between 12:00pm and 11:00pm.

ELLE cafe

best,restaurants,roppongiELLE cafe is a renowned restaurant in Roppongi and was opened by none other than the famous fashion magazine ELLE. I liked the idea of this restaurant of improving your health and beauty from inside.

Known for its French California cuisine, they do not use synthetic additives or ingredients in the food. Due to this I noticed various varieties of super foods, macrobiotic foods and organic foods. It helped me to overcome my stress in this restaurant.

We sat outside on the open terrace and had the Chefs lunch course for about 2800 yen per person. This course changes with the season and includes an appetizer, main, soup and coffee or tea.

Warayakiya Roppongi

The speciality of this restaurant is Katsuo no Tataki which is bonito grilled by coals and over a hay fire which I found very tempting and delicious. In this dish the fish is cooked from outside but the inside is raw.

Do sit at the bar and be entertained by the Chefs preparations of the food. Besides the fantastic food, my girlfriend couldn’t help but rave about the fabulous atmosphere and service. If you’re feeling adventurous give the horse meat or whale a try.

This restaurant is just 3 minutes walk from the No.3 exit of Roppongi which was very close to my hotel. The restaurant is open for you from Monday to Saturday between 5pm and 5 am and also on Sundays between 5pm and 11 pm.

Barbocoa Roppongi Hills

best,restaurants,roppongiIf you are too fond of eating meat then Barbocoa Roppongi Hills is the perfect restaurant for you. It is a famous Brazilian BBQ restaurant and boosted my appetite. To date there are still long queues in front of this restaurant.

The speciality of this restaurant is the rare parts meat. We had the brazilian barbecue and salad bar for 5400 yen. Their seasoning is mainly rock salt so you can enjoy the original taste of the meat. In addition the desserts of this place is also very delicious which my girlfriend appreciated very much.

The lunch is available between 11am and 3pm from Monday to Friday and between 11am and 4pm on weekends. We opted to visit this place at night. The dinner is available between 5pm and 11pm from Monday to Sunday.

These restaurants offer you a wide range of dishes which includes Caribbean, European, Japanese and French dishes. The grilled meat and rare meat parts dishes are simply great and has no match. The organic food and mixed sauces simply add an extra layer of taste to your dishes. Some of the restaurants have happy hours menu which makes you buy your favorite eats at a reasonable price. Not to forget the location of these restaurants is perfect and you can reach here without losing any time.
